Conlangs at Noreascon

()

Jim Henry did a write-up on the conlang (constructed language) meetings at Noreascon for the conlang list. I was at the “One Language to Rule Them All” panel by Tim Smith and the confab afterwards. Since then I’ve found a few helpful conlanging sites, most notably Langmaker, with its advice to the new conlanger and a favorite conlanging flag.

Hugos and Details

()

Detailed results are up for the Hugos and Retro Hugos. I’m not sure I’d want to know how close I came (or that I was dead last), but I suppose it keeps the contest honest.

Fantasy of Manners

()

Kate Nepveu did a nice Live From Noreascon write-up about the Fantasy of Manners panel (Lois McMaster Bujold, Ellen Kushner, Jo Walton and Madeleine E. Robins moderating). I missed that and many other panels; I wish more of this sort of detailed panel coverage had shown up in the blog.

My Noreascon Schedule

()

I’m going out of town unexpectedly for a couple of days, so my Noreascon schedule (if anyone is interested) will be:

  • all day Thursday * Friday 10am—noon * Sunday 10am—6pm or so * all day Monday

Noreascon Program

()

A schedule is now up at the Noreascon site. They also have a news blog and several other blogs listed in its sidebar. If you’re already in or around Boston, check out the local gopher needs page as well.

Schedules of Appearance

()

Charlie Stross and Patrick and Teresa Nielsen Hayden have put up their Noreascon schedules.
