Scott Teplin's Floorplan Art

()

Via BoingBoing:

For a while now, [Scott Teplin]’s been doing drawings of three dimensional letters, filled with different substances. This has evolved into letters and abstract shapes drawn as axiometric floorplans for strange clubhouses filled with mysterious and enigmatic devices. It’s like detention-room doodling, done by a pre-adolescent supervillain.

Here’s a thumbnail gallery of his upcoming g-module show. I thought those or his 28 Rooms might inspire some interesting writing exercises.

Cover Art Horror Stories

()

We’re discussing cover art on one of my mailing lists, which reminded me of a cover art horror story I ran across recently. I don’t think I’d get that upset over a cover unless it were independently offensive—-say, a naked lady or a gory corpse—-but then I don’t pay attention to cover art unless the author himself drew it.
