Via SFScope: Harry Potter is going out with a bang.

US publisher Scholastic announced today that “sales of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows reached a record-breaking 11.5 million copies in the US in its first 10 days on sale.”

And that’s not even counting the pirated Chinese versions.

Via a mailing list: the Daily Mail reports that J. K. Rowling may kill off Harry Potter.

Asked why she would not commit herself to saying exactly whether or not she was going to kill him, she added: ‘I’m not going to commit myself because I don’t want the hate mail!’
