Via Pyr-o-mania: Wordle is

a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like.

I saw on Slashdot that Google was giving away GMail accounts to random people who visit the Google home page. I tried it and won the invite lottery. Now I have the obvious gmail.com address (mcdemarco), which I plan to use as a replacement for my somewhat unstable domain email.

Goodbye to the Write Hemisphere

I’m sad to report that my favorite writing blog, Write Hemisphere, has been officially discontinued. It’s been 404 since late November, but I kept hoping for its return.
